1. Who should I call if I have a question with my water bill?
If your question is about your water charges, call VA American at (703) 549 -7080 or (800) 452 – 6863. If your question is about sewer charges, call the Authority at (703) 549-3381 ext. 2222.
2. Is the Authority responsible for trash pickup or household hazardous waste?
No.
The Authority is responsible for wastewater treatment. For trash pickup, call the City of Alexandria Solid Waste Division at (703)519-3486. For household hazardous waste, call the City of Alexandria Office of Recycling at 703-751-5872.
3. Who should I call for sewer line backup?
Call the City of Alexandria Sewer Lines Maintenance Division at (703)838-4488.
WASTEWATER
1) What are Biosolids?
They are nutrient-rich organic materials resulting from the treatment of domestic sewage in a treatment facility. When treated and processed, these residuals can be recycled and applied as fertilizer to improve and maintain productive soils and stimulate plant growth.
2) What is the difference between Biosolids and sludge?
Biosolids are treated sewage sludge. Biosolids are carefully treated and monitored and must be used in accordance with regulatory requirements. |
